Just for Fun Liquid Eyeliner Looks

The original idea for this article was “best eyeliner styles for each eye shape”, but what determines “best”? Countless beauty blogs give instructions on how to give your eyes the illusion of a different shape, usually in an attempt to mimic the almond eye shape- considered to be the “ideal” eye shape. Nah. I’m not gonna tell you how to do a liner to “correct”, or “fix” your eye shape, just to match some euro-centric beauty standard. Makeup should be used as a way to display your artistry, not a way to adhere to rigid beauty standards. So instead of rating liner types for upturned or down turned eyes, let’s talk about the most fun eyeliner trends of 2023 and how to create it with Medusa's Makeup!

Banana Liner

Yeah, you heard that right, like the fruit.
Banana eyeliner was a popular eyeliner trend in the 1960’s.This trend is also referred to as “twiggy eyes”, because the supermodel Twiggy made this look so popular. It’s drawn on above the crease of the eye, or really wherever your heart desires; there’s no rules for banana makeup. This gives the wearer a fun, retro look. This eyeliner style is making a comeback in recent years, and is a great way to add a pop of color to your makeup routine. Today, the trend has made a comeback and is worn by many makeup enthusiasts.

Floating Liner

While often compared to the banana eyeliner style, floating liner gives you a lot more creative freedom! Playing with the placement is the best part — no two floating eyeliners look the same, so experimenting is encouraged. The point is to use your liner on other places than your lash line; because this liner is not constrained by the lash line, you can play around with the placement, size, or shape to create a look that's unique to you.  It can be below your eye, a long squiggly line above your upper crease, or you can even connect it to your regular winged liner, and continue it into your upper lid area. This emphasizes the negative area, and gives you a bolder look and emphasis on color! This look works great with Cake Wet Eyeliners.

Triple Liner

Triple eyeliner

Well there’s not too much explanation needed for this one. So to make this more interesting, I’ll describe it like a magician.
First, take your everyday winged liner, grab your preferred eyeliner, say the magic word (abracadabra), and tada! THREE winged liner layers (omg try to say “winged liner layers” three times fast)!
I’ll break the magician's code this one time, and explain how this trick is done. Draw your usual winged liner in its usual place, draw a wing above, and one below your original wing. Fill in the extra space, and boom! You got the triple liner down. It’s a fun and easy way to give yourself a unique look without wanting to hurl your liquid liner into the sun!
